The Postgraduate Library is a true reflection of the mission statement of Queen Mary College - “Service with Simplicity”. The Library supports the educational goals and instructional needs of the programs by providing professional reference services and information resources to supplement classroom and laboratory learning as well as participating in the teaching/learning environments of the academic departments, centers, schools and online operations with the goal of contributing to the development of student - applied research skills.

The QMC Post Graduate library provides fine collections of print, non-print and digital resources, group study spaces, and computer connectivity with Internet access. The Library also subscribes to more than 25 International and national Journals of good repute and to a comprehensive collection of Newspapers.

The Postgraduate Library was built in 2003 at the commencement of the MA/M.Sc classes and with the passage of time it has enhanced its collection as well as services. In 2008 this Library was shifted to its newly - constructed building. Currently it has a seating capacity for 100 students with a large reading hall & a Periodical Room.

The Post Graduate library has divided its material in Eight Sections

  1. The Reference Section (Non Lending material includes a Digital Collection and a comprehensive number of Subject Dictionaries, Subject Encyclopedias as well as General Encyclopedias)
  2. The Economics Section
  3. The English Section
  4. The Mathematics Section
  5. The Mass. Communication Section
  6. The Political Science Section
  7. The Psychology Section
  8. The Statistics Section

There are more than 7,000 books and the collection is growing rapidly with the addition of new books and new on-line Internet services. All books can be easily found using the Automated System. Required books can be borrowed by students and faculty and the reference materials, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and atlases can only be consulted in the Library Reading Room.
