Musical Mosaic: Retrospective of the 5th Annual Concert Feb. 27th, 2024

The 5th Annual Musical Concert, organized by the Musicology Department with Ms. Mahwish Rasheed as the Head of Department (HOD) of Musicology, Sir Mujahid Hussain as the lead musician, and supported by Ms. Aniqa Haider, Assistant Professor of Education, and Ms. Zarqa Umer, Associate Professor of History, took place on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at the college ground. This vibrant and captivating event showcased the incredible musical talents of both college and school students.

The concert commenced with a soulful rendition of a Sufi Qalaam by Ms. Aniqa Haider, setting the tone for the Day. Subsequently, both junior and senior students, alongside Ms. Mahwish, the HOD, demonstrated their vocal prowess.

Renowned singers, Waris Baig and his son Ammar Baig, graced the stage, enchanting the audience with their harmonious voices.

The event was honored by the presence of the Principal, Professor Dr. Sidra Aamir, and the wife of DPI colleges, who served as the chief guests. During the closing ceremony, the esteemed Principal presented shields to the distinguished guests, including Mr. Shahid Mehmood Nadeem (Ex GM of Pakistan Television), Mr. Mujahid Hussain (Pride of Performance awardee in music), and Mr. Ammar Baig, who received a shield on behalf of his father, Mr. Waris Baig.

Among the notable guests were Agha Qaisar (producer of Nilaam Gher), Hafeez Tahir (producer of Ainak Wala Jin), Saleem Bazmi, Sarwat Ali Khan, and Sir Rakeeh Jameel, who graced the event with their presence.

Dr. Sidra Aamir, the Principal, commended the Music Society team comprising Ms. Mahwish (HOD), Ms. Aniqa Haider, and Ms. Zarqa Umer for organizing such a colorful and entertaining event.

It was truly a memorable day, where teachers, students, and their parents alike enjoyed and appreciated the musical talents on display.
