Women Entrepreneurship through SDGs Expo

The Guide Cell of Government Queen Mary Graduate College Lahore organized the “Women Entrepreneurship through SDGs Expo” on November 30, 2024. The event celebrated women’s empowerment and showcased innovative entrepreneurial ventures aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also highlighted the college’s commitment to fostering leadership and sustainability among young women.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat. Professor Dr. Sidra Aamir, Principal of GQMGC, presided over the ceremony, commending the creativity, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit of the participants. The chief guest, Ms. Nadeema Zafar, Deputy Provincial Commissioner of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association, praised the efforts of the college administration and acknowledged the Guide Cell’s ongoing initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
Participants presented a diverse range of projects that addressed key SDGs, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Climate Action. These initiatives were both creative and practical, offering real-world solutions to global challenges. Emphasis was placed on sustainability, inclusivity, and economic empowerment. Additionally, the participants demonstrated their skills in creating eco-friendly products such as jewelry, wall clocks, candles, ornaments, and bags, promoting the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3Rs).
A short, engaging video was shown, reflecting the journey and accomplishments of the Guide Cell, and highlighting their dedication to innovation and leadership. The event concluded with an inspiring message encouraging attendees to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. In recognition of her exemplary leadership, Ms. Breira Abdullah, the Incharge of the Guide Cell, was presented with a commemorative souvenir and badge by Professor Dr. Sidra Aamir. This impactful expo not only emphasized the significance of women’s entrepreneurship in achieving sustainable development but also inspired all attendees to contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future.
