Career Counselling
The inception of Career Council Cell is another achievement in the ongoing voyage of advancement and progress of Govt. Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore. It was established with the coordination of Lahore College for Women University, Lahore in 2012. It was inaugurated by The Secretary Higher Education, Punjab.
The center focuses on providing assistance and guidance to students in academic planning, choosing their career and exploring future prospects, to provide counselling service to the students who are facing emotional and psychological problems. It also provides information to students about different subjects, displays informative material relating to scholarships, jobs and conducts personal & professional development workshops/seminars/ sessions.
- Self-Discovery and Assessment: We believe that self-awareness is the foundation for making career decisions. Our career counselors will work with you to help you understand your interests, values, strengths, and personality traits. Through various assessment tools and exercises, we will help you identify your skills, passions, and areas of potential career alignment.
- Exploration of Career Options: Once you have a better understanding of yourself, we will assist you in exploring different career options and fields of study. Our career counselors will provide resources, information, and guidance on various career paths, industry trends, and job market demands. We will help you research and evaluate different careers to find the ones that align with your interests, skills, and goals.
- Individualized Career Planning: Based on your unique strengths, interests, and aspirations, our career counselors will help you create an individualized career plan. We will work together to set short-term and long-term goals, develop strategies, and outline the steps you need to take to achieve your career objectives. We will also provide assistance in developing a timeline and action plan for internships, job applications, and further education, if applicable.
- Information on Educational Programs: If you're considering further education or specific degree programs, our career counselors can provide guidance on the available options, admission requirements, and the relevance of different programs to your career goals. We will help you understand the curriculum, faculty, and resources offered by different educational institutions, enabling you to make informed decisions about your academic path.
- Resume Writing and Interview Preparation: Our career counseling program includes support for building your resume and developing your interview skills. We will provide guidance on crafting a professional resume that highlights your skills and experiences effectively. Additionally, we will assist you in developing strong interview techniques, conducting mock interviews, and providing feedback to enhance your performance.
