Overview
The Department of Fine Arts has started in 1966 at Govt. Queen Mary Graduate College (GQMGC). Fine Art department has been producing knowledge students at intermediate in 1966 and graduate level in 1970. The department owes a great deal of gratitude to the eminent teachers and professors, who contributed towards the progress and betterment of department. Currently, Ms. Rabeea Ali brilliantly worked as Head of the department, GQMGC.
Vision and Mission

Objectives
The objectives of the Fine Art Society in a girls’ college are to foster creativity, artistic expression, and appreciation among students. The society aims to provide a platform for girls to explore different art forms, develop their skills, and showcase their artwork through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects. It also aims to encourage a supportive and inclusive artistic community that inspires personal growth, cultural understanding, and the exploration of diverse perspectives through art.

Program offer
We offer Fine Arts at intermediate level and ADP. The subject combinations are given in the college prospectus.
Admission Criteria
- Admission Committee is responsible for admission to Intermediate Fine Arts & ADP Fine arts.
- Advertisement in Newspapers, college notice board and college website will be displayed.
Form Submission
- College Prospectus and admission form will be available from the college office.
Scrutiny of Forms
- After the submission of the form, concerned department may scrutinize the forms according to the college merit, under the supervision of the Admission Committee.
Eligible Candidates for Test / Interview
- A Lists of eligible candidates for Tests & Interviews for Fine Arts disciplines of will be displayed on the college notice board.
Test & Interview
- Candidates who will qualify the basic eligibility criteria of the Fine department shall appear in Test & Interview on the prescribed date.
- The test includes a basic drawing of still life and live drawing, each having 30 minutes of time in the Fine Art Department.
Display of Final Merit Lists
- The Final Merit Lists will be displayed on the college notice board.

Our Fine Arts Society
The Fine Arts Society of Queen Mary College provides a platform for students to explore and showcase their talents in various art forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, and more. It encourages students to express themselves creatively and nurtures their artistic skills.
The society plays a crucial role in organizing art exhibitions, cultural festivals, performances, and competitions within the college campus. These events provide opportunities for students to exhibit their artworks, perform on stage, and engage with the larger college community.
The society arranges workshops, training sessions, and masterclasses for the Red Crescent Society. These sessions help students enhance their technical skills, learn new artistic techniques, and gain valuable insights into various art forms. The Fine Art society also actively participate in
Intercollegiate Fine Art competition. The society may collaborate with other student organizations within the college to create interdisciplinary projects.
