Punjab CM’s Vision: Buses Distributed among 24 Women’s Colleges under “Punjab on the Move”

In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif under the initiative “Punjab on the Move – Empowering Women’s Education,” Government Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore, organized a special ceremony today where buses were handed over to 24 women’s colleges across Punjab.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary Higher Education Punjab, Mr. Ghulam Farid, DPI Colleges Dr. Syed Ansar, Director Planning & Budget Syed Irtaza Ameer Naqvi, Director Colleges Ahsan Mukhtar, principals of the beneficiary colleges, along with Directors and Deputy Directors from across Punjab.
DPI Colleges, Dr Syed Ansar Azhar stated that transport facilities will expand the outreach of higher education across Punjab and encourage more families to educate their daughters. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s vision, terming the step a milestone toward inclusivity and equal opportunities in education for women in both urban and rural areas.
Addressing the ceremony, Secretary Higher Education said the program reflects the Chief Minister’s commitment to women empowerment. “By providing safe and reliable transport facilities, the Punjab government has removed one of the major barriers for young women in accessing higher education,” he said.

In the end, Principal of Queen Mary Graduate College, Prof. Dr. Sidra Amir, expressed gratitude to the guests, calling the initiative a blessing for institutions, and prayed for the prosperity of the country .

The program was described as a landmark initiative in ensuring safe access to education for women and a strong step toward progress and empowerment in Punjab by the speakers.
