79th Independence Day Celebration
Quaid-e-Azam Society of Political Science Department, Govt. Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore, organized a special event to celebrate the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan on 14th August 2026, on the directions of the worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Sidra Aamir.
The programme was held under the supervision of Deputy Section Head, Dr. Qamar-un-Nisa.
College Band
A special performance by the college band welcomed the worthy Principal as the Chief Guest.
Flag Hoisting
The programme featured a flag-hoisting ceremony celebrating the spirit of independence.
Lighting of Diyas
Traditional lighting of diyas symbolized peace, harmony and national unity.
Plantation
The worthy Principal planted a sapling, symbolizing the college's commitment to a greener and healthier Pakistan.
Formal Ceremony
The formal ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat-e-Rasool (PBUH).
Students' Participation
Students actively participated in the programme by delivering speeches, presenting tableaus and performing national songs that reflected their patriotism and love for the country.
Message of Patriotism & Responsibility
The event concluded with an address by the worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Sidra Aamir. In her address, she highlighted the significance of patriotic citizenship, national unity, and the responsibilities of young people in the progress and development of Pakistan.
A Renewed Commitment to Pakistan
The programme successfully inculcated awareness among students about the significance of celebrating Independence Day and reinforced the values of patriotism, unity, harmony and responsible citizenship.
