Hostel Facilities at Queen Mary College
Hostel facility is offered to Queen Mary students. A well- maintained hostel is located in the College. The facilities provided include shared bedrooms, wash-rooms, sitting rooms, dining rooms and kitchen. Essential staff like cooks, cleaners and security guards have also been provided.
Hostel Admission Rules and Regulation
- Limited seats are available in the hostel for non-local students from Class I to BS level.
- Students seeking admission to hostel will have to fill a prescribed form which is available from the College office.
- Admission to the hostel is given for one academic year only (College section). The College authorities have the right to refuse admission to an Intermediate Arts/Science student in 2nd year and an ADP/ADP, Science/ADP Commerce student to 4th year respectively if her conduct or behavior during the previous year was unbecoming or she was found guilty of infringement of the Hostel Rules.
- Residence in the hostel is at all times subject to good behavior and can be withdrawn at any time in the interest of hostel discipline.
- Students seeking admission to hostel must have a local guardian otherwise they will not be granted admission.
- Only unmarried students can apply for admission to hostel.
- Parents/Guardian should submit a list of male and female visitors at the time of admission. The number of such visitors should not be more than 5. Kinship of these visitors has to be submitted. The specimen signatures accompanied by photographs of the visitors on the list have to be submitted at the time of admission to the College.
Visiting Time
Summer and Winter  2 p.m to 5 p.m. Sunday   9 a.m to 2 p.m
- No visitor shall be allowed to meet the student other than the specified time given in the hostel rules.
- No visitor is allowed to go inside the hostel.
- Students will be fined Rs. 50/- for taking mess utensils in their rooms.
- With the permission of the principal, students can go home on weekly holiday on Saturday from 2 p.m to 5 p.m. They must return to the hostel by 6 o' Clock of Sunday evening. Violators of this rule will not be allowed to go home for one month and will also be fined Rs. 200/-
Instruction for Leave Application from Hostel
Students should mention the following in their leave application while going out of the hostel
- Their place of visit with address and phone number.
- Time of departure.
- Name of escort.
- The guardian / parent must fill all the columns on the register lying with the warden at the time of taking the student.
- The Mess fee will be charged on monthly basis and not on daily basis.
- Boarders are not allowed to move about in the College premises in coloured clothes during the College hours.
- Any students found guilty of violating rules will be liable to disciplinary punishment. A serious breach will lead to her expulsion even from the College.
- Every boarder is expected to observe high standards of discipline and preserve a healthy atmosphere in the hostel and respect the rights of others.
