One-day Hands-on Training on FTIR

In compliance of the directions, received from the Worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Sidra Aamir, of conducting series of training sessions, One-day Hands-on Training on “FTIR” was held on 17th of February, 2026 (Tuesday) in Seminar Room of Govt. Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore. The seminar was organized by the Incharge Advanced Science Research Laboratory Dr. Hafsa Memona, under the supervision of the Deputy Section Head (College).

The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Naat-eRasool-e-Maqbool and the National Anthem.
Prof. Dr. Aliya Rehman Khan, Principal, Govt. MAO Graduate College, Lahore graced training as Chief Guest. Dr. Rabia Muazzam (Assistant Prof. Chemistry, GQMGC Lahore), delivered lecture and hands-on sessions on FTIR principles, instrumentation, data collection, and analysis. Participants gained practical experience and confidence in operating FTIR instruments and analyzing data.

The state-of-the-art Advanced Science Research laboratory is designed to support cutting-edge research and innovation in various fields of science and technology. Equipped with advanced instrumentation and technology, this lab provides a collaborative and dynamic environment for researchers.

The Worthy Principal, PROF. DR. SIDRA AAMIR expressed her gratitude to the Honorable guest speakers for her time. She also highlighted the pivotal role of such training in research, practical learning and skill development among faculty and graduate students. The Worthy Principal also presented shields to the Honorable Chief guest. Chief Guest visited Advanced Science Research Laboratory and appreciated the commitment to scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research excellence. Participants gained practical experience and confidence in operating FTIR instruments and analyzing data. The training session was ended by the vote of thanks by the worthy Principal to honorable Chief Guest.
